Sophia Saturn #3 is Live on Kickstarter!

Our latest campaign for Sophia Saturn #1-3, is rolling along until July 31st. We still have some great rewards packages including all the issues, an exclusive T-shirt featuring artwork by series artist Ben Herrera, and our Big Blue Comics Digital Pack. Sophia Saturn is a 5-issue space adventure written by K.J. Kaminski (THE RESISTANTS, HYPER-ACTION) with art by Ben Herrera (X-Men, HYPER-ACTION), & colors by Ross A. Campbell (Wayward, THE RESISTANTS). Issue #1 has a few fantastic variant covers by Drew Edward Johnson (Wonder Woman, Godzilla) & David Williams (Bass Reeves, Spider-Man).

We Did It! HYPER-ACTION #3 has been successfully funded on Kickstarter with stretch goals!

We are putting the finishing touches on the production for HYPER-ACTION #3 and it will be ready to send to the printer soon. But this is the time we all test our patience. It will be about two weeks before Kickstarter releases the funds so I can pay the printer. Once the printer is paid it can take 6-8 weeks before I have the books in my hands from the slow boat overseas. I’m hoping we get the books right before the holidays and get them out by the end of the year, but I can’t guarantee that at this time. Depending on how things go with the printer I may opt to get the books for the Kickstarter expedited, but because of the cost, I only do that to make sure the books are out in the scheduled time. One way or another the physical rewards will go out sometime between the beginning of December and the end of January. All digital rewards will be released in November.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the campaign and made us a success! We not only surpassed our funding goal but added a couple stretch goals and bonuses along the way. In the next couple days you will be sent a survey with a few questions I’ll need answered to be able to deliver your rewards. You should also be able to make any additions to your package at this time. Watch your inboxes and junk-filters for that.

New Comics Now Available!

We have two new releases in the Big Blue Comics store.

Our first successfully Kickstarted comic, THE RESISTANTS’ Kestrel One-Shot, is now in the hands of our backers. If you didn’t get a chance to contribute to the campaign now’s your chance to pick up a copy of this exciting stand-alone story. Kestrelcomic.com Kickstarter is live

Our first Kickstarter is live at www.Kestrelcomic.com now.

We self-funded the first six issues of THE RESISTANTS to show the confidence we had in the books, as well as showing you the reader that we can put out a consistent quality book. But with self-distribution there is a lot of long game planning. So our next issue, a one-shot starring Kestrel, is live on Kickstarter now. This will open up THE RESISTANTS to a whole new audience that we don’t see at the shows as well as some added goodies for those regular con goers to get involved.

Kestrel made her debut in the recent The Resistants: The Broadcast Offensive mini-series. We saw her aid Interval and The Resistants in their struggle to expose the secret criminal alien leadership of the Takeo Corporate State. In the Kestrel One-Shot, we go back a few years to tell the story of Kestrel’s first interaction with Interval and THE RESISTANTS. As an executive weapons designer, Erin Hawthorne, finds her position affords her the ability to help those in need.

See Erin take her first steps as the burgeoning hero Kestrel, while she discovers how best to fight for those that no one else will fight for.

This 28 page full color comic book one-shot is written by K.J Kaminski and features art by Jason Johnson (Gen13, Knight Rider) with colors by Teo Gonzalez (Aspen)  plus a special variant cover by Gus Vazquez (Big Hero Six, Suicide Squad).

Big Blue Convention Tour 2018 Rolls On

We kicked off the year at Planet Comicon in Kansas City, MO last month. It was so gratifying to see so many familiar faces.

The convention tour rolls on with our next stop at Wondercon in Anaheim, CA, March 23rd-25th.

For those in the area, come visit us at Small Press Table SP-107. K.J. Kaminski will be on hand with all our latest releases and art prints along with some sneak peeks of our upcoming projects.

Big Blue Comics Fall Convention Tour Starts

We have a busy comic con schedule coming up.  September we’ll be at 4 shows with a few more to be announced later to round out the year.

Our first stop is September 2nd-3rd at the Long Beach Comic Con in Southern California.

Next up on September 8th-10th we’ll be at the Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR.

Then over to the east coast and the Baltimore Comic Con in Maryland.

THE RESISTANTS team at Amazing Las Vegas Con

Writer/ Co-Creator K.J. Kaminski and Artist Jason Johnson will be at the Amazing Comic Con at the Las Vegas Convention Center June 23-25th.

K.J. will be in Artist’s Alley all weekend and will be joined by Jason Friday all day and Saturday 2:00-7:00.
